Spring is Here!
I was delighted to be invited to show and sell my jewelry by the Events Manager at Terrain in Westport, a gorgeous home & garden shop, in their beautiful, natural space on Artisan Day. Local makers get the opportunity to show & share their handcrafted creations Spring into early Summer.
The staff was so welcoming and kind. My jewelry, set up on one of Terrain’s beautiful rustic tables, displayed in front of a lush green wall full of reindeer moss & naturally twisted vines, with a trickling waterfall. It was so peaceful!
I enjoyed meeting so many lovely customers in-person, who purchased pieces “just because” or for a special occasion ~ Pearl & Silver Earrings, custom Treasured Initial & Cherish Silver Ring Necklaces. I also appreciated their kind comments on my work. I left corporate life behind me to pursue my creative passion, and it’s days like this one that affirm my choice was the right one,
In Good Company
If someone had told me that I would be downsized after a corporate restructure, become a creative entrepreneur, and my work would be worn by a well-known journalist on national television, I wouldn’t have believed them. But that’s exactly what happened to me.
As a new jewelry designer, just in time for Mother’s Day, I created a custom necklace for my favorite Journalist, Ann Curry, with her children’s names hand-stamped on a silver ring, and shipped it off to New York. Not only did Ann receive it, but she wore it on an entire broadcast of Today, without my even knowing it. It was fate that I happened to watch that particular show that morning, and froze when I saw what she was wearing around her neck.
It was quite a surreal but satisfying moment for me. Even more satisfying, I later received a lovely, gracious thank you, personally signed by Ann, that I will always treasure. And it is with this first piece that I began my journey into entrepreneurship.
